I know most people aren't as dorky about design aesthetic and typography as I am (I turned to Joe and said "geesh...Futura much?" while at a Volkswagen dealership yesterday....good times) but I figured I'd go ahead and share a little piece of what I've been up to while "not busy."
January and February are notoriously slow months for photographers. While they may be "slow" in terms of actual shooting, I have been a busy little bee behind the scenes. After redesigning my website and blog, my next project was to create and order some new marketing materials for my brand. First up was business cards. Having a background in both marketing and graphic design, you would think something as simple as a business card would be a piece-o-cake. Notsomuch. Designing for myself has been an unexpectedly challenging (and fun) experience and after all the second guessing and obsessing, I am really excited about my new look.

The official title of my business is "Cat Dunbar Photography and Graphic Design." I post photos upon photos of photography endeavors here but haven't shared much graphic work. The "design" section of my site has been under construction FOREVA and lingering somewhere around item #429 on my to-do list is to update and photograph my portfolio.
So to all the skeptics, here is proof that YES I am a graphic designer as well: A recent postcard/flyer project I did with a local company who distributes handcuffs to prisons. Interesante, no? Kaitlin sent out her wedding invitations this week so it's finally safe for me to post the design pictures!
The theme of Kaitlin and Chris's wedding is Wildflowers so we tried to bring that into the invitation. I loved that they chose to do a tri-colored envelope scheme...so fun! Undergoing a little web re-design for the next day or two so please bear (bare?) with me. Hope ya'll like it!
Just finished up a program cover for the Claudia Perri School of Dance. Definitely wayyy different from anything I've ever done but I had a lot of fun designing something girly!
The sun is finally out in NY woooo! Lots of errands to run but since it's been a while since my last update I figured I'd stop in and post the business cards I just got back from the printer for my latest design client. Ob-La-Di Ob-La-Da...happy weekendddd :-)
